Anna Nowak-Pokrzywińska
A violinist by education, a violist by vocation. She leads a rich concerting life,
performing, both as a violinist and as a violist, with such ensembles as
L’Arpeggiata, Capella Cracoviensis, Collegium 1704, {oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna,
and the Dresdner Festspielorchester. She has performed in concert halls across
Europe, Asia and North America. Her recordings have been published by such
labels as: BIS, Chanel Classics, Alpha, Dacapo, DUX and Erato.
Since 2021, she has been teaching historical viola at the Fryderyk Chopin
University in Warsaw. Since 2023, she has been part of the research project The Wagner Cycles, which combines the Dresdner Festspielorchester and Concerto Koln orchestras under the baton of Kent Nagano. The result of this meeting is to be the first recordingof a series of Richard Wagner’s music dramas on historical instruments.
